the glorious return of kaisermun
[A young man of considerable stature has washed up on the Domino City shoreline.
He is covered in salt and sand, and a few pieces of seaweed have draped themselves casually around his limbs and wormed their way into the tears in his clothing. He's clutching a sealed briefcase as if his life depends on it, even in unconsciousness.
There's a waterlogged nametag pinned to his soaked leather coat that reads "Hello: My Name Is Phoneutria."
What a suspicious character. Perhaps you should investigate.]
[[Note to former benchdwellers: Phone will probably have very few (if any) memories left from his time in the Dressing Room. You may have to reintroduce yourself. ;o also i'm posting in bed so don't be alarmed if i doze off, I'll be back tomorrow morning!!]]

:o Hello, stranger!! How wonderful you washed up here! (I'm headed to bed too, but whoo!)
Not that she was expecting to find anyone in particular out here at all. Her drives out near the city outskirts are more to vent frustration than anything, since her actual manhunt around the new residential abode isn't going well. Still, of all the familiar faces to find when she saw someone collapsed where the road came up close to the beach, and she got out to investigate...
It looks like it'd be tough to get that case away, but is turning him over and trying to drag him from the surf out of the question? It will be a stilted, jerky effort!]
tagging at school, I am so bad 0:)
He coughs and sputters a little when he's turned over...his name tag is clearly visible now, too, albeit a little bit blurred from the ink bleeding in the water. Yep, this is the right guy.]
can't tag from work, I am so sad! ;o;
Gaahhh...
But at least it's amply rewarded, since the sounds show he's definitely alive! So on top of looking him over and noticing the name - yep, another familiar fellow victim of the relocation project! - she's trying to pull him up to a supported sit.]
Hey, you can hear me right? Just try and catch your breath.
no subject
He does open his eyes after that, though...that's a good sign. And after he finishes coughing and takes a few breaths, he speaks, hoarsely:]
...have we met?
[He clearly has his priorities straight.]
no subject
Oh, whatever! She awkwardly pats his back until he stops coughing, waiting for the expected question of where he is,
...and gets that, instead.]
Ah, I thought so... You don't know me?
[Wow, did he bang his head or something? She looks around, just in case there's something else around out of place around here, before she turns the frown back on him.]
You just washed up here, but... You don't remember how you got here?
no subject
...I do know you. But not where we met.
[Letting go of his briefcase and setting it on the sand carefully, he looks out at the ocean.]
I was standing on dry land at the academy, the last time I was conscious.
no subject
[Except explaining that would be a huge mess to tackle, especially if he's suffering from amnesia of some sort. This isn't just about him going home for a while and forgetting, right? He doesn't look much older, and he'd at least place her...]
Do you at least remember the hotel? Or- [She shuts her mouth eyes glued to that case, then shakes her head with a frown. She's not paying attention to what's important here.]
Why don't we get off the beach? You should probably check by the hospital or, something...
no subject
[She doesn't know when he'll get back...? What...]
...but we're not exactly in Domino, are we?
[Upon her suggestion of a hospital visit, he shakes his head.]
I can't.
no subject
[It's hard to make it anywhere else, when you keep ending up back in city if you drive or walk out, and the only passages out are doors she's, not sure about exploring alone.
But she's all for frowning at his protest. She's not sure about moving him much, much less how to treat him herself.]
Why? The people here are, not too nosy, if you don't try to stand out, and money isn't a problem.
no subject
I stand out whether I want to or not. I can't check into a Domino hospital if I'm not dying.
...So. Where, exactly, is this?
no subject
[But without a clear sign he needs the care, she's loathe to push the issue. It's bad enough trying to figure out what the people do or don't notice or mind, without drawing extra attention for a suspiciously reluctant patient.
Still, she can't offer much more than a shrug as she backs up, once certain he can support himself. ]
I wish I knew. It's definitely bigger here, and more... "Natural" I guess, but we're still stuck here, and. I don't know... How many from the hotel, ended up here...
[But... Phone just appeared now. Maybe more will follow!]
no subject
So all you know is that it's an alternate Domino. And you can't leave.
[His second attempt at standing is more successful, albeit wobbly.]
What's this "hotel"?
no subject
[-the hotel, and he really is playing it tough, isn't he? Forget it, she's going to try helping him keep on his feet. It's needed, especially if she wants a hope of getting him off the sand.]
It's- You really don't remember then? It... was the last place we were stuck. It was smaller, of course, but strange things happened there, too, and some of the same people are here, so...

Perhaps my shrink can backup the emotional trauma.

-or in a game shop!
i almost threw him a promoter but--
And all she'd wanted to do was dip her feet in the water to see whether it was as cold as it looked! Mali almost turns and runs away - she saw nothing, nope, not her - but nosiness gets the better of her.
So instead she rushes to the man's side and - starts poking the side of his head. He looks k-kind of like....]
Hey! Hey! You can't sleep here!
You...are just sleeping, right....?
hehehe, we'll have plenty of promoters later~
He doesn't look very healthy, though, unlike Patu.]
there is a full npc underground here...because i could....
So she starts shoving against his shoulder.]
I said get up! Don't just lie there!
Get up, mister!
[Get up, or you might make a little girl cry. And then your hair might get yanked.]
see last post for title orz
Then he doubles over and coughs a bunch of water onto the sand.
Oh dear...
sorry for the trauma, Mali...]np~ i am kind of inconsistent myself :(
Mali scoots backwards a little, squeaking, but ventures forward again not long afterwards.]
A-ahh....
Are you...okay?
[And she tries to look adorable and winning, not like someone who'd just been pushing him around.]
ehe it's okay <3
Probably.
[How reassuring.
He looks around cautiously, still disoriented (and probably not paying nearly as much attention to Mali as she'd like).]
...where is this...?
no subject
I dunno. Yuugi's home, except something was weird about his mom when we visited.
There's a nice apartment place, and lots of shops, and a museum. Which is where they keep dead people so they can learn about them.
[This was the best answer. ---oh wait! She does know the name.]
Do-mi-no! That's it. Domino!
[SO PROUD she remembered.]
aa I keep being late
The fact that Mali thinks a museum is a storage area for dead people is a bit suspicious too.]
...at least this is a familiar place.
[How did he even end up in the ocean? So many questions.
With that question...partially answered, he blinks a few times at Mali. She seems oddly familiar, like a childhood friend...]
What's your name?
no subject
She feels what might be sympathy for you, strange guy. (Though she feels sorrier for herself, now that she's figured out it's on her to make sure he gets wherever he needs to go okay.)]
I'm Mali. Mali Ishtar!
And I'm not from here, but that's kind of normal. You're the same way, right?
it seems like kaiser doesn't talk to kids much differently than adults
Hell Kaiser Ryou.
[What a weird name.
He starts checking on his legs as he talks.]
I didn't grow up in Domino, if that's what you mean. But I do know the city.
his flawless social skills should be experienced by all
[She likes the city when it's not scaring the pants off of her. Or when buses don't wait for her. That part's not so great.]
....what are you doing?
[Small child in your personal space again.]
oh yes absolutely
I'm checking myself for injuries.
[He maneuvers himself delicately around so that he can sit up on his knees, and starts thinking about his options. He's still renting an apartment here, isn't he...?
Then he looks to his side and suddenly there is a child very close to him.]
...Hello.
