the glorious return of kaisermun
[A young man of considerable stature has washed up on the Domino City shoreline.
He is covered in salt and sand, and a few pieces of seaweed have draped themselves casually around his limbs and wormed their way into the tears in his clothing. He's clutching a sealed briefcase as if his life depends on it, even in unconsciousness.
There's a waterlogged nametag pinned to his soaked leather coat that reads "Hello: My Name Is Phoneutria."
What a suspicious character. Perhaps you should investigate.]
[[Note to former benchdwellers: Phone will probably have very few (if any) memories left from his time in the Dressing Room. You may have to reintroduce yourself. ;o also i'm posting in bed so don't be alarmed if i doze off, I'll be back tomorrow morning!!]]

oooh, I shall have to look into this! c: I'd finally have a steady connection!
But, then do you usually just admit that, to...
[She watches a second before she turn and leans in between the seats, coming back with a clean napkin from an earlier takeout bag.]
Here. [And, she's already frowning down at the cuff again.]
Why are they so sharp? Do you get stabbed, too?
hooray! :>
No. But legality isn't usually a problem in places like this.
Besides. I've used them on the Academy campus without a problem.
[...but he doesn't really like to think about that, so he moves on to attend to her next question.]
Stabbed? No. Not with these. The spikes are an embellishment.
[He's heard that they're there to stop duelists from trying to remove them mid-battle, but...he's not about to tell a stranger that he was forced into the underground.]
no subject
[Enough to comment and follow when tiny kids and pokemon are walking with apparently insane teens, for instance. But that's neither here nor there.
What is here is a Phone with electric cuffs, drawing a sideglance for the spikes explanation. But she can't look for long, since she's back in the middle of inner city traffic.
Enjoy the crowd, Phone.]Besides, even if no one comments, why do you need them here? You were holding pretty tight to them...
no subject
Interesting.
[He pulls his boot up to inspect it, and make sure the ankle cuffs attached haven't sustained too much water damage.]
I still use them outside of duels. For...training.
[That pause could only have been intentional.]
no subject
[Because this has gone from a cruel thing to put a duelist through to an insane risk to take. While still cruel.
Here, Phone. That mildly tall building must be where they're going, since she's turning into the parking garage spot just after it.]
Is that why you don't want to go to a hospital? They would take them off?
no subject
[...he pauses for a moment at her second statement.]
...You're perceptive.
[It's not the whole truth, but it's certainly part of it.
He watches the other building before it disappears behind the wall of the garage.]
no subject
[The compliment really only gets a grimace, seeing how being right means he's not planning to take a break wearing the things, even after washing up on a beach.
But, once she's in an lower level free spot, and parked, she's finally giving the devices undivided attention.]
-how bad are these shocks, anyways? Enough to kill?
no subject
Sometimes. If your opponent is good enough.
Mostly, they're just...painful.
[He's got an odd expression, there. Exactly how bad are they?]
no subject
All she can do is make a face- but it's not exactly about the pain.]
If it's that bad, why would you take part?
[She assumed some necessity at first, but, his behavior with the cuffs...]
no subject
His strange smile melts away, replaced with the same neutral mask he usually wears. He closes the case and gets out of the car.]
no subject
But, left with a lot of gritty details and little explanation? She's having trouble wiping that frown away as she follows him out of the jeep, then walks across the parking space.]
The new building has a lobby, and things like laundry rooms and drink machines, but if you want anything else, you'll need to go out for it.
The rooms are nice, though.
no subject
...After a few seconds, he stops walking for a moment.]
...thank you.
no subject
[Suddenly she doesn't feel so perceptive, since she's not sure what to say at all. Eventually she'll walk around him enough to come up beside him.]
Ah, you should know though, we have more room here, but it's... harder to find someone.
[Now who has the odd expression?]
-if you want to keep track of somebody, you might want to keep contact or something.
ignore the boobs they were never there
Who is it you've been looking for, then?
[Busted.]
BUT. THEY WERE RIGHT THERE!!
That said, she skirts a glance and then rolls on, trying to start the pace back up.]
My boyfriend, Marik. Do you- remember meeting him, or one of him? I've met a few.
hahaha you have no proof
[He remembers advising her not to chase him, but. anyway.]
What's on his tag?
[He taps his own ink-bleeding "Phoneutria" name-tag.]
I don't need proof - it's burnt in my MIND!
And that's not the same Mar- er- well. Complicated.]
Linner. I, haven't seen him since the move here, though...
it'll never hold up in court
The've probably reached the lobby by now. He exchanges a few curt words with the NPC behind the reception desk and, in exchange, receives a key card.
He checks the back and sighs.]
Fifth floor. Of course.
Perhaps my shrink can backup the emotional trauma.
Oh, whatever the case, she's just glad to have a topic change off the uncomfortable.]
Do you not like upper floors or something? The elevator is kind of slow, but...
no subject
[He stalks off in the direction of...the stairs. Of all the places to go.]
no subject
[She's not certain- She hasn't seen much of the cruel side, merely heard from relations. Until recently.
But- she follows a couple steps to the end of the stairs, and stops.]
...do you want help, finding things with the building too?
[Or, if that room doesn't show up?]
no subject
[He keeps climbing, answering as he walks.]
It should be fine.
[He is now a man on a mission.]
-or in a game shop!
[Then she'll leave him to it - after watching him take a few steps, making sure there's no hint of him falling or stumbling or what not one last time.
If that's set, she'll turn and walk right back out of the building. Whether it's other surprise arrivals, or something else to distract her, she's more likely to find it on the road.]
